Congratulations to the project team involved in Walkersons Bypass - Infrastructure Works for achieving an excellent IS v1.2 rating in their recent project certification.
The project team achieved a certified score of 55.6 points and was awarded an Excellent Design rating.
Key achievements of the project included:
- The Walkerston Bypass will deliver a new 2-lane rural highway to connect Peak Downs Highway west of Walkerston to the Mackay Ring Road near Paget.
- The new Walkerston Bypass will become the designated heavy vehicle route for B-double and other multi-combination vehicles, including A-double road
- The project is being delivered as a Construct Only project for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Government.
The detailed design phase commenced in 2019 with AECOM as the design consultant and was completed in 2021 before proceeding into the construction phase. The project is currently in construction with Fulton Hogan as the head contractor.

Congratulations to the project team involved in Stockinbingal to Parkes – Daroobalgie and Wyndham Avenue Sites Infrastructure Works for achieving an excellent IS v1.2 rating in their recent project certification.
The project team achieved a certified score of 56.6 points and were awarded a Excellent Design rating. The proponent of this project was ARTC - Inland Rail and the designer was WSP in Australia.
Key achievements of the project include:
- Increasing vertical clearance on the Lachlan River rail bridge in Forbes.
- Increasing vertical clearance under the Wyndham Avenue road bridge in Forbes.
- Building a new crossing loop north of the Daroobalgie Road level crossing.

The ISC planning manual will be on display for ISAP's to access very shortly. In preparation for this, please find below a copy of the slides presented at our recent ISAP Day in New Zealand by Dr Kerry Griffiths, which covers key elements of the detailed and strategic planning tool, the strategic plan credit flow and the delivery timeline. The Infrastructure Sustainability Council also acknowledges and thanks GHD for their role and valuable contribution in assisting with the update of the IS v2.1 Planning Rating Technical Manual.
