Modern Slavery |
|
We are pleased to announce the release of the second edition of the IS Impact Notes: Modern Slavery. This impact note outlines how infrastructure projects can drive action - through leadership and management, sustainable procurement, materials sourcing, and workforce sustainability - to integrate an appropriate and effective modern slavery response with long-term impact. The IS Rating Scheme supports embedding modern slavery management actions, aligning with the UN SDG 5 Gender Equality, and UN SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.

IS Water Advisory Group |
|
The recently established IS Water Advisory Group (ISWAG) has finalised its work plan, which focuses on exploring the benefits of IS ratings for water infrastructure - including new and existing assets.
ISWAG will look at the ROI to the sector and how to drive large-scale sustainability performance across all programs.
ISWAG will review water projects currently undergoing an IS rating, and national and international best practices and benchmarks, thus gaining insights that will be valuable within the member organisations and the sector more broadly.
ISWAG will make recommendations to the sector and the ISC by mid-2023.
IS Water Advisory Group is chaired by Rod Naylor, Global Water Lead at GHD, and its members are SA Water, Sydney Water (NSW), Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (VIC), Water Corporation (WA), Coliban Water (VIC), Sunwater (QLD), Parkes Shire Council (NSW), Wellington Water (NZ), Water Services Association of Australia, Aecom, Aurecon, KPMG, Mott MacDonald, and the ISC.
