Successful IS Networking Event held in Perth
On 25th June 2014, ISCA held a successful networking event in Perth, attended by a variety of professionals with an interest in Infrastructure Sustainability from WA Government Agencies and the construction industry. Hosted by the NorthLink WA Team, the breakfast event provided practitioners with an opportunity for an informal catch up.
ISCA Technical Director Rick Walters provided an update on new ISCA members, new member benefits, the conference, dinner and awards, IS rating tool development including Economic and Workforce Themes, and projects registered for IS Ratings, including details of new project registrations. These include NorthLink WA, which comprises two large highway projects with a combined value of $1.12bn and which has registered for a Design Rating as well as support during the project development and procurement phases.
Main Roads WA Project Director Rob Arnott introduced the NorthLink WA team, the consultants recently appointed to develop NorthLink WA. Led by BG&E, the team will ensure that the projects are “delivery ready” by Spring 2015. In his presentation, Rob highlighted how the IS Rating Tool themes complimented the wider NorthLink WA objectives and described how, by considering opportunities during project development, Main Roads hoped to maximise sustainability outcomes at the delivery stage.
Rob commented that “Main Roads and the NorthLink WA team are excited to be working with ISCA, particularly in helping to develop the IS Rating Tool so that it can be applied earlier in the project lifecycle.”
