About
The Queanbeyan Local Government Area is 172 square kilometres, and is home to about 41,000 residents. The Council consists of a Mayor elected by the voters, and nine other councillors. Local government elections are held every four years, and the next one is scheduled for March 2017. Council’s day-to-day operations are overseen by the General Manager, who is supported by four Directors. Council employs about 280 staff members, who undertake a range of services.
