"Main Roads is very proud to be working collaboratively with Slidestreet and the City of Perth on this exciting Australian-first community event," Main Roads Managing Director Steve Troughton said.
"On conclusion of the event in Perth's CBD, Slidestreet will transport the water in several trucks to the Gateway project for use during construction activities."
"It has been very encouraging to see how Main Roads has developed the integration of sustainable strategies into major infrastructure projects over the past twelve years," Mr Troughton said.
"This includes adopting the Infrastructure Sustainability rating tool, Australia's only comprehensive rating system for evaluating sustainability across design, construction and operation of infrastructure for projects valued over $20million."
The Gateway WA project is currently registered for formal verification under the Infrastructure Sustainability rating tool.
"Gateway WA is committed to making decisions that contribute positively towards the local environment, the community and the greater economic development of the state across the life of the infrastructure and into the future long after construction ceases."
