About
TonerPlas is a high-performance asphalt additive manufactured from post-consumer recycled plastics (polymers). This additive has been 8 years in development and is shovel ready in large volumes right now. Made from recovered waste printer toner (a high-grade polymer) and post-consumer soft plastics dropped into the Redcycle bins in all Coles and Woolworths stores around Australia. TonerPlas is designed to melt into, extend and modify the bituminous binder mastic in asphalt. TonerPlas improves the mechanical properties of asphalt, leading to improved durability. It is 100% recyclable at end of life as high-quality RAP.
Sustainability Outcomes
TonerPlas is made from 100% post-consumer recycled content. It was invented in Australia, tested, trialed and proven on Australian roads, and creates Australian jobs. Since China Sword, and the banning of exports of plastic waste, Governments and industry have committed to using more recycled content products in Australian infrastructure projects. TonerPlas not only includes post-consumer recycled content in your road and other projects, it improves the performance and longevity of the asphalt as well.
