About

Assembled Threads produces high-quality, ethically made PPE and offers the Uniform Circularity Collection Service to help organizations reduce uniform waste. Partnering with governments and corporations, our service creates circular pathways that extend product life and minimize landfill, driving sustainability in uniform procurement.

Sustainability Outcomes

Uniform recycling is crucial because it helps reduce the significant waste generated by discarded workwear, which often ends up in landfills. By recycling uniforms, we extend their life cycle, conserve resources, and reduce environmental impact. It’s a key step towards more sustainable, circular supply chains, helping businesses meet their sustainability goals while promoting responsible consumption and reducing waste.

The Australian Fashion Council is pleased to advise, to the best of their knowledge, that the Assembled Threads Towards Circular High Visibility Apparel project producing hi-vis vests made from recycled textiles was a first in Australia. National or State

IS v1.2 Inn-1 , Mat-1 , Was-2
IS v2.1 Inn-1 , Leg-1 , Rso-4
Mat-1 (ISv1.2) Our product mandate is to replace manmade virgin fibres with recycled content, and where possible choose local made textiles in the products we manufacture.
Was-2 (ISv1.2) With over 500,000 tonnes of textile waste generated annually in Australia, and only 1%. of uniforms recycled, much of it ends up in landfills, harming the environment. Recycling and repurposing textiles reduces landfill pressure, conserves resources, lowers carbon emissions, and supports a circular economy.
Inn-1 (Isv2.1) Contribute to Innovation Challenge – 4: Sustainable Supplier and ISupply
Inn-1 (ISv1.2) Contribute to Innovation Challenge – 8: Sustainable Supplier and ISupply
Leg-1 (ISv2.1) Leaving a Lasting Legacy at Assembled Threads we are helping to tackle long term unemployment amongst culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women in our community. Every product purchased represents an ethical wage paid to the person creating your garments. This ensures together we are transforming and rebuilding the lives of our most disadvantaged community members.
Rso-4 (ISv2.1) The production of garments generates the most carbon emissions in their lifecycle, but reusing textiles has an environmental impact 70 times lower, even with transport emissions factored in. For each high/medium-quality garment reused, we save 3 kg of CO2 and only need 0.01% of the water used for new clothing. Assembled Threads helps businesses embed repair services into their supply chains, offering on-site garment repair and a new-for- old swap system to ensure accountability, reduce waste, and significantly lower environmental impact.
