About
Hot Rolled Coil is available in a range of analysis, structural and formable products with custom
thicknesses, widths and length options. Hot Rolled Coil is typically used in pre-painted and metallic
coated applications, and structural sections. Other applications include tanks, gas cylinders and
guardrails, to name a few.
Produced to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1594:2002 and is certified by ACRS, BlueScope’s hot
rolled coil steel products are available in guaranteed mechanical properties; in guaranteed
chemistries; specified weldability and ductility, and for galvanising applications.
The hot rolled coil steel range provides the flexibility to select from our standard range or
customised grades, width, thickness and length to suit your specific design criteria.

Steel is strong, durable, and versatile and its inherent properties allow it to be recycled without loss
of quality over and over again. In some cases, it can be reused without reprocessing, again saving on
energy and resource use.
Steel is 100% recyclable, and its magnetic properties mean that it can be easily separated for
recycling and is less likely to end up in landfill.
BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steelworks site, where the steel for Hot Rolled Coil is manufactured, is
certified to the ResponsibleSteel™ Standard v1.1.
The ResponsibleSteel™ certification can give organisations in the steel value chain confidence in the
environmental, social and governance performance of our steelmaking facilities, and may help them
to meet their climate objectives and manage supply chain risks.
