About

Emesh recycled fibre reinforcement replaces steel reinforcement in pathways, cycleways, pavements, car parks, drains, precast products and traffic islands. Emesh is made from 100% recycled plastic contributing to the circular economy. Using Emesh on your project can reduce your asset’s carbon footprint, embodied water (refer to EPD) as well as reducing time during construction. Emesh is produced in Australia using waste plastic and packaged at McCallums Industries in Victoria, employing disabled people under the NDIS. Emesh has an EPD certified to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 which outlines the environmental footprint and is available on our website. At Enviromesh we don’t just sell Emesh, we also fully support it with our ability to certify its use in design of your pathway or pavement. Emesh has undergone rigorous testing and conforms to EN14899-2 Macro Poly Fibres in Concrete, Vic Roads Section 703 and ASTM C 1116 – Standard Specification for Fiber Reinforced Concrete – Published 2008

Sustainability Outcomes

eMesh may assist in achieving ISv2.0 Rso-6 and ISv1.2 Mat-1 by reducing the life cycle impacts of your project when comparing to a steel mesh base case. When using the ISv2.0 Materials Calculator, eMesh has a 25% lower CO2-e impact than a steel mesh alternative (see the footpath example on our website). As eMesh has an EPD certified to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 you may receive points in ISv2.0 Rso-7 and ISv1.2 Mat-2 when using our product on your project. eMesh has also been pre-loaded into the ISv2.0 Materials Calculator with its EPD data meaning you can select ‘eMesh when putting your materials data into the Calculator. At Enviromesh, we don’t only consider the environmental impact of our products; we have also identified social initiatives to make eMesh even more sustainable. eMesh is packed by people employed through McCallums Industries- an Australian disability enterprise. This initiative may further contribute to the ISv2.0 Sustainable Procurement category and the ISv1.2 Procurement and Purchasing category especially if social sustainability initiatives within the infrastructure supply chain are identified in your sustainability or procurement strategy.
