Lendlease to help ISCA service the West with secondment
Sustainability in construction specialist, Jaclyn Fathers, joins ISCA from member organisation, Lendlease, on a six month secondment. Jaclyn will be working as Western Australia’s case manager, and supporting the technical team and WA working Group.
Jaclyn boasts a wealth of experience, having previously been the Sustainability Lead on the NorthConnex Project- a 9km twin tunnel being constructed in Northwest Sydney. Jaclyn’s tireless efforts contributed to the project achieve a ‘Leading’ score of 87 for the design IS rating.
Previously Jaclyn has worked in other environment and sustainability roles at NorthConnex and on the M5 West Widening, and enjoyed an earlier career as an Exploration Geologist.
Jaclyn’s secondment to ISCA was made possible with the support of Lendlease Foundation, which was established in 1983 to look after the health and wellbeing of the company’s employees as well as the communities in which they work. Lendlease Foundation also works closely with Lendlease’s not-for-profit partners to address social, economic and environmental issues.
After having worked with the IS Rating tool for two years, Jaclyn was keen to learn more about project planning and the way that sustainability targets and objectives are included from the onset. When she was offered the chance to delve deeper into ISCA’s operations, she immediately accepted the offer.
“I was excited to assist other projects in implementing the IS Rating tool and being involved in the planning of upcoming projects and assisting with defining sustainability outcomes for the project.
I also want to learn more about the operation and governance of a not-for-profit, including everything from the financials and board involvement. Having always worked for fairly large companies and on the contractor side, I am excited to be involved with ISCA and how it operates.”
ISCA would like to thank the Lendlease Foundation, ISCA Board Director, Sarah Marshall, and Jaclyn Fathers for making the secondment possible – we are lucky to have Jaclyn working with us.
