Ballarat Line Upgrade
The Australian and Victorian governments are upgrading the Ballarat line to deliver more trains and improved reliability for Melbourne's outer western suburbs, Melton, Rockbank, Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Ballarat.
Read MoreThe Metro Tunnel will create a new end-to-end rail line from Sunbury in the north-west to Cranbourne/Pakenham in the south-east, with High Capacity Metro Trains and five new underground stations.
The project is the biggest transformation of Melbourne’s rail network since the City Loop opened in 1981 – transforming Melbourne’s train network and how people will move around the city.
It will connect major precincts at Parkville, Arden and the Shrine of Remembrance to the rail network for the first time when it opens in 2025.
Metro Tunnel Project Office is the Victorian Government agency responsible for delivery of the project.
