Hot dip galvanizing uses zinc to protect steel from rust – making steel more durable by making it last longer. Less corrosion also means less cost and less environmental impact for maintenance, while zinc and steel are also fully recyclable materials.
Galvanizers Association of Australia (GAA) is an industry Association established in 1963 to represent galvanizing companies and to provide technical consulting services on a not for profit basis. GAA comprises many of the leading galvanizing companies throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
The Association’s objectives are to provide the highest standards in design and quality of galvanized products and to assist consumers achieve the economics inherent in the correct design and application of galvanized products.
Our services include:
- Practical assistance and advice for engineers, architects, designers and builders on the use of hot dip galvanized steel
- Free of charge CPD seminars and information sessions on hot dip galvanizing (accredited for architects by AIA)
- Free technical publications on all aspects of sustainability, design, application, process, bolting, welding and painting of galvanized steel
- Technical consulting on hot dip galvanized infrastructure, including inspection services by accredited personnel.
